Games with Gold Delivers for Second Month Straight
I’ve been more than a little critical of Xbox’s Games with Gold over the past few months. The Holiday Season in particular was pretty lean. Understandable giving the large quantity of AAA titles coming out, but I was starting to become a little worried.
Then February hit, and with it – the addictive #IDARB. On the 360 front I was extremely pumped about Sniper Elite V2 – a game that showing some age but is still immensely satisfying and fun. Keeping the momentum – March’s Game with Gold offering for Xbox One is the ridiculously awesome – Rayman Legends. The amount of content in this game is astounding. It’s a treat to play and feels as if you’re playing through a cartoon. The platforming is solid and brings back great memories of what gaming used to be. It reminds me of what it was like to play Aladdin on the Sega Genesis – something old school gamers won’t need an explanation to understand.
I’m extremely jealous for 360 owners who get to play through Tomb Raider and Bioshock Infinite. Two of my favorite games on the platform during the end of it’s lifecycle. Tomb Raider might’ve been one of my favorite games on 360 in general. Gameplay is tight, the graphics are great, the story is immersive, and its covered in that quality polish expected of a triple A release.
Microsoft’s strategy of releasing quality titles during the lean post holiday months is, so far, paying off for gamers.
